Matthew E. Reichert

Matthew E. Reichert, 20, of McAlisterville, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fayette Township, Juniata County.

Born on April 27, 1998, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of Joseph I. and Sue E. (Messimer) Reichert of McAlisterville.

Matt was a 2017 graduate of East Juniata High School and attended Niemond’s Independent Church.

He was employed as a farm laborer on various farms throughout the community.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: two brothers, Lance A. Reichert, of Richfield, and Levi A. Reichert and his wife, Shanda, of Blanchard, Mich.; paternal grandfather, Robert J. Reichert Sr., of Ickesburg; maternal grandmother, Janet Messimer Fultz and her husband, Charles, of Richfield; nieces, Ella Rose Reichert, Kaitlyn Shick, and Emily Shick; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by: a maternal grandfather, Bruce Messimer; and a paternal grandmother, Lillian Reichert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, with Pastor Ron Berrus officiating. Interment will follow at Niemonds Cemetery, Richfield.

A closed casket visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m., Friday, at the church.
