Lois was a devoted wife and mother whose family and home were important to her. She loved Maine, as it was always home to her. Always available to family, friends and neighbors, she was never known to put herself above others. She was humble about her abilities to do many things. Earlier in her life, she was an avid sportswoman who hunted, fished and was particularly skilled in basketball. Upon moving to Lewistown to assist her sister, she met Robert and began her life in Pennsylvania. They married on Jan. 16, 1953. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. Lois was known for her wit, sense of humor, encouragement, helpfulness, generosity, kindness and determined spirit, she handled all with a smile.
The family wishes to thank the very special group of caregivers who took excellent care of Lois for seven years in her home. Upon moving to Valley View Haven, she continued to receive excellent care during her stay in the 200 hall and sends their gratitude to everyone who treated her with such love and compassion when she became the one in need. Many special memories with many special people have been shared during her earthly journey. She loved her life and had no regrets. She met challenges with courage and dignity and now enjoys the comfort and peace of her eternal home.
