Donald R. Bossinger

Donald R. Bossinger, 85, of Bossinger Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.

Born Feb. 17, 1933, in Bratton Township, he was a son of the late Charles I. and Mary (Frymyer) Bossinger. His wife, Barbara J. (Yoder) Bossinger, whom he married Jan. 4, 1958, survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Betty J. Stout and husband, Michael, of Lewistown; a daughter- in-law, Kim D. Bossinger, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Aaron Bossinger and fiancee, Alison Guss, Michelle DeArment and husband, Matthew, and Nicole Michael and husband, Wade; and four grandchildren, Cory, Addison, Brooklyn and Ella.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Bossinger Sr., on April 26, 2017. The youngest of nine siblings, he was also predeceased by three brothers, Eugene, Glen and Fred; and five sisters, LaRue, Ruth, Lynne, Evelyn and Frances.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean conflict.

Donald retired as a truck driver for GTS and previously was employed at the American Viscose Corp. and Harbison Walker Refractories.

He was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and the men’s Bible class.

Donald enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and traveling, but his most cherished time was that spent with his family. His family is very grateful for his hospice care from Morgan, Missy, Amy, Amber and Judy.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Randy Fiske and Pastor Edward Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 67 Pine Glen Road, or to the HNA Family Hospice, 129 S. Main St., both of Lewistown, PA 17044.
