Enos J. Kurtz

Enos J. Kurtz, 59, of Washington Park Road, Adams, New York, passed away early Wednesday morning on Aug. 22 at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Enos was born in Lewistown on April 19, 1959, to Joseph and Julia (Byler) Kurtz. He married Lucy M. Zook on June 12, 1980. Mr. Kurtz was a lifelong dairy farmer, first in Belleville, before relocating to the Lorraine in 1993. He was a pastor for 33 years and has pastored for the past 25 years at the Northern Light Christian Fellowship Church in Woodville.

Mr. Kurtz is survived by his wife Lucy; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Marla, Belleville; Michael and Elizabeth, Henderson; Ryan, Adams; Jonathan and Janina, Belleville; Timothy and Joseph, both of Adams; Joshua, Lorraine; Julian, Adams; Marvin and Alesha, Wiggins, MS; and Steven, Adams; 11 grandchildren and two foster grandchildren; his brother Joseph (Sylvia) Kurtz, Mannsville; three sisters; Julia (David) Hostetler, Tura (Raymond) Hostetler, and Rachel (David) Peachey, all of Belleville, and 84 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy J. Kurtz, and an infant brother, Samuel Kurtz.

Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the Northern Light Christian Fellowship Church, Allard Road, Woodville. Additional calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church, with funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Aug. 26. Burial will follow the funeral in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville.
