Nancy A. Yoder
Nancy A. Yoder, of Belleville, died Monday, May 14, in Mariensville at Snyder Memorial Nursing Home after a long illness.
Nancy was born on Dec. 14, 1939. She married Paul L. Yoder Sr. on Dec. 26, 1961. Paul preceded her in death on March 8, 2012.
Nancy was the daughter of William and Hazel Stelhey and was raised by Irvin and Alma Skipper, of Altoona. Nancy had two brothers, Paul and Billy Stelhey and sisters, Gloria and Caroline Heimbaugh. All are in heaven.
Nancy and Paul had two children, Paul Yoder Jr., of Lewistown, and Michelle K. Sheaffer, and spouse, John, of Ferguson Valley. Four grandchildren: Jolene Wert, and spouse, Malachi Wert, of Milroy; Andrew Lightner and spouse Laura Wilhelm, of Florence, Kentucky; Ethan Lightner, of McVeytown; and Logan Lightner and spouse, Haley Lightner, of Tipton also survive.
Nancy also had five great-grandchildren, Jace, Albry, Blake, Easton and Caroline.
Nancy was a homemaker most of his life, but before marrying Paul, she was a phone operator for Bell Telephone and she was also seasonal help at S&H Green Stamp for a few years.
Nancy enjoyed country music, gardening, yard saling and her companion dogs, Snowball and Lucy.
Nancy donated her body to science. She requested no viewing or services. to honor Nancy’s memory, make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
