Sarah ‘Sally’ Shontz

Sarah “Sally” Shontz (Dec. 15, 1927-April 24, 2018). Nurse anesthetist, amateur archaeologist, world traveler. First and foremost, she is a diehard Eagles fan and can pass to the ever-after now that they won the Super Bowl.

While working as an anesthetist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Sally also joined underwater diving archaeological expeditions in Central America. After she retired from TJU, she expanded her travels to include every continent except Antarctica. She will lie and tell you that she is older than she is, so you will tell her how great she looks. Her sarcastic wit and infectious laugh will be missed. She can light up every room that she walks into. She is an avid shopper and she almost single-handedly kept Macy’s in business for years. She stalks the paperboy if her paper isn’t delivered by 6 a.m. so she can do her crossword puzzle for the day.

Her daughters, Tess and Johanna, their partners, Bob and Charley respectively, her granddaughter, Virginia, and her spirit animal, Cleo, will be lost without her light. But honestly, she just couldn’t stand another minute of Trump.
