Nathan A. Hurlburt

Nathan A. Hurlburt, 73, of Kingman, Ariz., passed away on Dec. 23, 2017. Nate leaves his wife, Marilee Hurlburt, of Kingman, Ariz.; son, Richard Hurlburt, of San Franciso, Calif.; sister, Beverly Fogleman and husband, Wayne, of Reedsville; brother, Charles Hurlburt and partner, Bryan May, of Amity Hall; sister-in-law, Margaret Hurlburt, of Reedsville; step-brother, Thomas Weiler, of Milroy; brother-in-law, Gary Preble, of Wheaton, Md.; step-brother-in-law, Lee Dewey and wife, Linda, of North Conway, N.H.; and step-sister-in-law, Pat Dauphnais; many cherised nieces and nephews; and lots of wonderful friends in Alsaka, Maine, Arizona and where he grew up in Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Fredrick and Vivan Hurlburt, of Milroy; step-mother, Grace Weiler, of Milroy; parents-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Preble, of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; step-mother-in-law, Elise Dewey, of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; his older brother, Jim Hurlburt, of Milroy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Inice and Bill Hassigner, Kay and Bob Hunt and Harry Hassinger; and step-sister-in-law, Sue Sylvia and husband, Rick.

Nate spent eight years in the Air Force, including a year in Southeast Asia. He worked many years for the Anchorage Telephone Utility. He and his family spent 23 years living in Alaska and much time in Maine on Sebec Lake and in Arizona. His loves and loyalties were his family, his pet dogs, Ted, two named Laldy and two named Duke, huting, fishing, piloting his “J3” and Super Cub airplanes and restoring John Deere tractors.

There will be small informal celebrations of life in Kingman, Milroy and in Alaska in the near future. An annoucement will be made for the Milroy service. He will be greatly missed.

The Sutton Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of cremation.
