Jesse Lee Spicher
Jesse Lee Spicher, 63, of 46 Queenstead Lane, Belleville, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Aug. 6, 1954, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Jesse D. Spicher and Annie L. (Yoder) Spicher. On June 28, 1979, he married Ruth A. (Hostetler) Spicher, who survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: children, Joseph L. Spicher and wife, Rebecca, and their children, Jacob Solomon and Gracelynn Jo, of Allensville, Joanna M. Spicher, at home, Sharon J. Spicher, of Poland, James M. Spicher, of Reedsville, Mary Ellen Spicher and husband, Jethro Fisher, of Gordonville, and Ruthie C. Spicher, at home; siblings, Naomi S. Yoder and husband, Quill, of Belleville, Anna Mae Yoder and husband Noah, of Burgettstown, Susan J. Peachey and husband, Joe, of Cuthbert, Ga., Mary Etta Miller and husband, Daniel, of Canon City, Colo., Abe L. Spicher and wife, Marlene, of Middleburry, Ind., Lois R. Kauffman and husband, Jesse M., of Belleville, and Ruth E. Kauffman, and husband, Joseph, of Belleville. Also surviving is mother-in-law Anna M. Hostetler of Belleville and sisters-in-law Cheryl “Jenny” Spicher of Bethany Beach, DE and Esther Spicher of Belleville.
Jesse was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Paul Spicher and David J. Spicher, and a sister, Rhoda S. Hostetler.
Jesse Lee was a dairy farmer his whole life and enjoyed working with his hands. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church where he served as a ministering deacon for 26 years. He enjoyed working with and helping people. He was very fond of visiting with folks and family activities.
Jesse’s family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2018 at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the church with Bishop David Peachey and Ministers David J. Peachey and David Byler officiating. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery.
