Russell A. Alexander Sr.

Russell A. Alexander Sr., 85, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 13, 2017, at his home.

Born June 7, 1932, in Strodes Mills, he was the son of the late Alvin R. and Dorothea (Whitacre) Alexander. Russell was also preceded in death by his brother Richard Alexander and a daughter-in- law Cathie Alexander.

Russell is survived by: his loving wife Marjorie (Seaholtz) Alexander, whom he married May 13, 1978; children, Sheila Hall of Minn,, Michael Filson, of Lewistown, Rebecca Filson, of Mifflintown, Miles Filson, of Allensville, Wayne Filson, of Lewistown, Larry Alexander and wife, Carol, of Lewistown, Michael Alexander, of Burnham, Debbie Spigelmeyer and husband, Allen, of McClure, Russell Alexander Jr., of McVeytown, and Bonnie Stidfole, of Lewistown; and a sister, Dorothea Powers, of Nevada; and numerous grand- children and great-grand- children.

Russell was enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from The Mann Edge Tool Co. and loved to farm, hunt, fish and trap. He was also an avid bee keeper.

A funeral service in loving memory of Russell will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 16, 2017, at The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown with the Rev. Jonathan God officiating. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday Dec. 15, 2017.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park
