James Joseph Miller
James Joseph Miller, 82, of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, formerly of York and Lewistown, died unexpectedly, Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017. He was the loving husband of Carole L. (Bott) Miller who died in 2013. Born in Lewistown he was the son of the late Richard L. Sr. and Claudine L. (Goss) Miller.
Jim had worked as a machinist for York International before retiring after 30 years of service. He was a former member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church of Lewistown and a former member, former board member and Sunday school teacher at Calvary United Methodist Church of York.
He attended the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at Masonic Village. He was a member of White Rose Lodge 706 F&AM York and was also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Jim enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and traveling in his motor home.
Surviving are three daughters: Kathleen A., wife of David Smith, York; Holly J., wife of Dyson Johnson, Delmar Md.; Cindy J., wife of Clarence Saxman, York; two grandchildren: Cory Grove and Crystal Saxman; two great- grandchildren: Cohen Wolfe and Alyssa Payne; and a sister Jayne A. Priar, Lewistown.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard L. Miller, Jr. and Thomas I. Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village Elizabethtown at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. Family will receive friends at Sell Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Viewing and interment will be private.
