Alma G. Stuck
Alma G. Stuck, 94, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown, and formerly of Thompsontown passed away at 4:13 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Brookline.
Born Oct. 26, 1923, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jennie (Sheary) Varner. On July 11, 1940, she married her late husband S. Marlin Stuck with whom she was blessed to share more than 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2003.
Surviving are: a daughter, Anise Page and her husband, William Jr., of Thompsontown; daugh- ters-in-law, Chrys Kammerer, of South Park, Fla., Shirley Hoover and her husband, Michael, of McAlisterville; six grand- children; 10 great-grand- children; and nine great- great-grandchildren.
She was the youngest child of 10 having been preceded in death by her brothers, Pharus, Clair, Merrill, Leonard, Floyd, Harold, Roy and Blaine Varner and her sister, Esther Walters; as well as, two sons, M. Gene Stuck, Franklin Stuck and a great grandson, Seth Zendt.
Mrs. Stuck attended the Thompsontown United Methodist Church and liked solving fill-in and word search puzzles, as well as putting together jig saw puzzles and playing solitaire.
In earlier life, she was employed as a seamstress for Rae-Sel, of Port Royal, but spent most of her married life, as a homemaker, traveling with her husband to his construction jobs until moving back to Juniata County in 1965.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at the Thompsontown United Methodist Church, Thompsontown, with the Rev. Barbara Yorks officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
There will be no viewing; however, friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
