Floyd D. Hostetler

Floyd D. Hostetler, 81, of 2481 state Route 655, Belleville, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Valley View Rehab.

Born Nov. 25, 1935, in Belleville, he was a son of the late J. Harvey and Stepha D. (Buchka) Hostetler. He was united in marriage to Ruby L. (Peachey) Hostetler on March 24, 1957. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2017.

He is survived by: a daughter, Carmella J. “Cam” Long and husband, David, of Belleville; grand- children, Megan J. Hartman and husband, Brandon, and their sons, Branson and Bastian, of State College, Austin D.S. Long and wife, Molli, and their children Ayden and Carter, of Vira, and William D. Long of Saylorsburg; a sister, Helen L. Glick and husband, Dwight; a sister-in-law, Bertha Peachey; and a brother-in-law, Mark Lehman.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, on March 20, 1963, and a brother, Donald Hostetler, on Nov. 7, 1990.

Floyd was first employed at KaVee Dairy, then at Maclay and Sons Farm Equipment. Next he drove milk truck for H. Ross Harshbarger Inc. Bulk Milk Haulers and Farmer’s Milk Handlers. He then worked for Baggus Funeral Home, and most recently, for Henderson Funeral Home.

He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, the Encouragers Sunday school class and the Rock Pine Camp. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He and his wife enjoyed a great network of friends with whom they traveled and spent much time.

His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Locust Grove Mennonite Church, with pastors Max Zook and Ivan Yoder officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m., Sunday, at Locust Grove Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville.
