Helen C. McCoach

Helen C. McCoach, 88, of Lewistown, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at her home.

Born June 21, 1929, in Minersville, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Agnes (Swalek) and Walter Kryston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. McCoach, on March 27, 2001; a son, Gary M. McCoach; her sister, Pauline Parry; and four brothers, Felix, Thomas, John and Joseph Kryston.

She is survived by: her son, Leonard M. McCoach and wife, Carol, of Dallas, Pa.; a grandson, Michael L. McCoach, of Boca Raton, Fla.; her daughter-in-law, KayMcCoach, of Morton; many nieces and nephews and two special great- nieces, Heather Knorr and Jessica Kopinetz, of Llewellyn; and two sisters- in-law, Beth Kryston, of Muir, Pa. and Anne Kryston, of Llewellyn.

Helen graduated from Branch Township High School in Llewellyn.

Upon moving to Mifflin County, she became a very active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where she especially enjoyed singing in the choir.

Earlier in life, she was employed by ACME Markets until the store closed.

A Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with Father Richard Baker officiating.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 US Hwy 522 South, Lewistown.

Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen’s name may be made to: Sacred Heart Church, 9 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
