Patricia A. ‘Patty’ Bumgardner
Patricia A. “Patty” Bumgardner, 56, went to be with her Lord on July 14, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Patty was born Dec. 19, 1960, in Lewistown, the daughter of Gwendolyn (Bush) Briner and the late David I. Briner Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 38 years, Tim Bumgardner.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Jr., a sister who died at birth, her maternal grandparents, Edith and Gilbert Bush, and paternal grandmother Dorothy Briner.
Surviving is a daughter, Angie, granddaughters Skyler and Kenzie, sisters Vickie Bowersox and Deanna Briner, loving aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many lifelong friends.
Patty graduated from Lewistown Area High School in 1978.
Earlier in life she worked at Arrow Shirt Factory and later spent several years driving tractor/trailer across country with her husband Tim. She graduated from MTA Truck Driving School in Elizabethtown and had her CDL license. Most recently, she worked in the Mifflin County School District cafeteria. She was a member of Moose Lodge No. 143, Lewistown
Patty loved the beach, camping, singing, riding in the car to nowhere in particular and life. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, was generous to a fault, loved her family and friends, her church and her faith in God.
A viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Lewistown Assembly Of God Church, 160 Summit Drive, Lewistown, with Pastor Dennis C. Sproull officiating. A viewing will also be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday.
