George Ronald Knouse

George Ronald Knouse, 80, of McAlisterville passed away at 4:37 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on May 19, 1937, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late George M. and Daisy A. (Alleman) Knouse.

Surviving are his cousins, Janet R. Heckman, Richard B. Roush, both of Mifflintown and Susan Sheaffer, of Beavertown.

Four cousins, Jack Knouse, William “Tip” Knouse, Rae Anna Brandt and Norine Thomas preceded him in death.

Ronald was a graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville and a graduate of Juniata College, Huntingdon. He was member of the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville where he served as Elder and served on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, for the Presbytery of Carlisle. He was also a member of the Fayette Lions Club and the Lost Creek Rod and Gun Club.

Mr. Knouse worked as an audio visual technician for several Pennsylvania state agencies and later as a hypnotherapist.

Ron, along with his father and others, owned the Spartanburg Phillies, a Class A minor league baseball team in South Carolina. Ron also enjoyed working with “The Little Theater,” of Mechanicsburg as well as other theaters in the Harrisburg and Hershey areas, designing and constructing theatrical sets. Later on he directed several productions in Juniata County.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday at the church.
