Amor Solomon Bulick Jr.

Amor Solomon Bulick Jr., 76, of Belleville, passed away surrounded by his family at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Health South, Pleasant Gap.

He was born July 17, 1940 in his grandmother’s upstairs bedroom, a son of the late Amor and Geraldine (Wagner) Bulick. He lived most of his life in Belleville. He attended grade school in Belleville and high school, up until his senior year, in Menno-Union. He graduated in 1958 from Kish High School. He was voted vice president of his class for his senior year.

He served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Montana and North Dakota. He met his wife of 55 years and 11 1/2 months, Karen A. (Saxberg) Bulick in North Dakota. They were married June 1, 1961.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his children, Roxanne Charles and husband Rick of McVeytown; Lisa Snyder and husband Brian of Allensville; John Amor Bulick and wife Janette of Allensville; grandchildren, Tyler Snyder and wife Latisha; Alyssa Snyder, Zachary Amor Bulick and Taylor Civitts, as well as great-grandchildren, Cayden and Conner Snyder and Paeden Heimbach. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Bulick.

Amor drove truck all over the United States. He also worked as an office manager for Boring Trucking for a number of years, was tax collector for Menno Township for 12 years, and retired as an office manager at Metzler Forest Products. He did accounting work for many people in the area for several years as well.

He enjoyed crafting custom, hand-made fishing rods for individuals and was very good at it. He was able to weave the owner’s name as well as fancy feathers into the handles. He donated a number of these custom rods to the Coffee Run Fishing Club to sell as a fundraiser. He was a member of the Coffee Run Fishing Club, the Hooley Fishing Club, the Lewistown Coin Club and the Watts Memorial United Methodist Church in Belleville. He will be missed by all and especially his lap dog, Libby.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Watts Memorial United Methodist Church in Belleville with Pastors Doug Pierce and Rosalie Smith officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville.
