Rodney L. ‘Rick’ ‘Hammer’ Henry Sr.

Rodney L. “Rick” “Hammer” Henry Sr., 66, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at his home.

He was born in Lewistown, a son of the late Homer Ray Henry Sr. and Pearl L. (Kauffman) Henry. His wife Karren J. (Ostrander) Henry whom he married July 17, 1985, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Kelly A. Crawford, of Petaluma, Calif., Rodney L. Henry Jr. and wife, Angela, of Granville, Kenneth R. Henry and wife, Tammy, of Lewistown; stepchildren, Renee Mathna, of Minnesota, Kyle Priebe, of Bellefonte, Casey Priebe, of Kansas City, Miss., Joshua Priebe, of California, and Loni Miner and husband, Wayne, of Allensville; siblings, Cheryl Spickler and husband, John, of Milroy, Homer Ray Henry Jr. and wife, Renee, of Granville, Pamela Hook and husband, Ron, of Crystal River, Fla., and Jeffrey Henry and wife, Nancy, of Thompsontown; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Jim Davis, of Colfax, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph C. Henry in 1955.

Rodney was a salesman with Beaver Bros. Bakery, Burnham, Coca-Cola, Phoenix, and 30 years with Tony’s Pizza. He was an avid sports fan with special interest in Penn State and Pittsburgh teams. He was a member of Centre Union Church, Lewistown, and a 1969 graduate of Kish High School. He was well known for playing and coaching softball and baseball. As a former wrestler himself he enjoyed attending local matches.

There will be a viewing 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March, 16, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March, 17, at the Centre Union Church, 470 Caldwell Hill Road, Lewistown with Pastor Kurtis Swisher officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to Centre Union Church Building fund, 470 Caldwell Hill Road, Lewistown, PA 17044.
