D. Brian Young

D. Brian Young, 53, of Allensville, died at 11:27 a.m. March 23 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 17, 1964, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Gary and Judy (Rinker) Young, who survives. He is also survived by his wife, Kimberly A. Bucknell, whom he married in 1985.

He is also survived by: his mother, Judy, of Todd, Pa.; children, Patrick Young and wife, Samantha, of Fairfax, Va., and Sarah Young, of Huntingdon; grandchildren, Henry and Evelyn; sister, Lisa Smith and husband, Clair, of Todd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He attended Allensville Community Church and was employed as mapping director for Huntingdon County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and four-wheeling, and was an avid baseball fan who coached in the Belleville Babe Ruth League for many years.

He was also a hardcore concert-goer and rock enthusiast.

He was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1981 and received an associate’s degree in architectural technology from Williamsport Area Community College.

Friends and family will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Young home, 168 W. Main St., Allensville. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. George C. “Buddy” Baird officiating. Interment will be in Trough Creek Methodist Cemetery in Todd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Brian’s name be made to Belleville Babe Ruth Association, c/o Bill Corbin, P.O. Box 92, Belleville, PA 17004, or to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, in Huntingdon.
