Mary Lee Schafer
Mary Lee Schafer, 91, formerly of Princeton, N.J., passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at William Penn, Lewistown.
Born March 3, 1925, in Supply, Va., she was a daughter of the late Olive Leonard (Parr) and William Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Schafer, in 2004.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Schafer- Greene, of New Jersey, and Pat Robbins and husband, Wayne, of Lewistown; one granddaughter, Laura Mulrenan and husband, David, of California; and three great-grandchildren, Anabelle Poynter, Jimmy and Michelangelo Greene.
Mary was a 1943 graduate of Princeton High School and earned a RN degree from Mercer Nursing School in Trenton, N.J.
Earlier in life, she was employed at Princeton Hospital in N.J., and several other doctor offices in Princeton.
Mary attended church services at William Penn. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Garden Club in Princeton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
A brief memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at William Penn, 163 Summit Drive, Lewistown, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating.
Interment will take place in Trinity-All Saints Cemetery later.
Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
