Gary L. Haines

Gary L. Haines, 77, of McClure, went home to meet his Savior at 10:16 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at his home.

Born March 23, 1939, in Wagner, he was a son of the late Viola G. (Hoffman) and Luther J. Haines.

He is survived by: his wife, Nancy L. (Henry) Haines, whom he married Dec. 23, 1961; daughter, Lori A. Breneman and husband, David A. Jr. and son, Gary L. Haines and wife, Sue Ellen J., both of Lewistown; grandchildren, Jeffrey T. Haines and wife, Nicole, of Fort Bragg, N.C., Jordan A. Breneman and wife, Carley, of Florida, Clayton R. Haines, Thomas A. Breneman, Erika M. Haines and Caleb A. Breneman, all of Lewistown; a great-grandchild, Nicholas A. Haines; one great-grandson on the way; and a sister, Bonnie Dumm and husband, Danny, of Mifflintown.

Gary was a 1957 graduate of Chief Logan High School.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Gary had worked at the Viscose, American Hickory, Juniata Foods and Mifflin County Christian Academy.

He attended Strodes Mills Baptist Church faithfully.

He enjoyed NASCAR, horseshoes, bowling, fishing and, earlier in life, hunting.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Strodes Mills Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan God officiating.

A private interment, with VFW Post 7011 honors, will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.

The family will provide all flowers.
