Daniel C. and Mary E. (Swarey) Swarey

Daniel C. Swarey, 54, and his wife, Mary E. (Swarey), 53, of 8600 Big Valley Pike, Mill Creek, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, as a result of an accident.

Daniel was born March 15, 1960, in Mill Creek, a son of the late Shem O. and Frannie H. (Peachey) Swarey.

Mary was born Nov. 22, 1960, in Huntingdon, a daughter to the late Ezra B. and Mary E. (Yoder) Swarey, who resides in Beaver, Ohio.

Daniel and Mary are survived by their children, Aaron D. Swarey and wife, Molly (Peachey), of Mill Creek, Anna M. Peachey and husband, Benjamin, of Mill Creek, Shem E. Swarey and wife, Mary (Peachey), of Mill Creek, Alvin J. Swarey and wife, Fannie (Peachey), of Allensville, Benjamin C. Swarey and wife, Laura (Peachey), of Belleville, Daniel E. Swarey and wife, Martha (Peachey), of Mill Creek, Amos R. Swarey, Henry L. Swarey, Sarah B. Swarey, Nancy M. Swarey, Jacob A. Swarey and Mary C. Swarey, all at home, as well as 14 grandchildren. They were preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Swarey.

Daniel’s brothers and sisters include, Lomie Yoder and husband, David, of Ohio, Susie Kanagy and husband, Aquilla, of Allensville, Thomas Swarey and wife, Lena, of Belleville, William Swarey and wife, Leah, of Belleville, Fannie Peachey and husband, Daniel, of Allensville, Shem Swarey Jr. and wife, Nancy, of New York, Emmanuel Swarey and wife, Ada, of Allensville, Aaron Swarey and wife, Fannie, of Mill Creek, and David Swarey and wife, Sylvia, of New York. Daniel is also survived by a brother-in-law, Phares Swarey and wife, Barbara, of Allensville.

Daniel was preceded in death by a sister, Hettie Swarey and a stillborn brother.

Mary’s brothers and sisters include: Samuel N. Swarey, of Parke County, Indiana, Elizabeth Swarey and Katie Swarey, of Beaver, Ohio, Sarah Peachey and husband, Enos, of Beaver, Ohio, Ezra Swarey and wife, Anna, of Belleville, Noah Swarey and wife, Annie, of Beaver, Ohio, John Swarey and wife, Julia, of Beaver Ohio, and Anna Detweiler and husband, Amos, of Parke County, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by five infant brothers and sisters and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Swarey.

They were both members of the Old Order Amish Church. Daniel was a dairy farmer and Mary was primarily a homemaker.

Their funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at their residence, 8600 Big Valley Pike, Mill Creek, with the home ministers officiating. Burial will take place at Allensville Amish Mennonite Cemetery.

Their family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon and evening at their residence.
