Lawrence M. ‘Tippy’ Knouse
MILLERSTOWN – Lawrence M. “Tippy” Knouse, 81, of Millerstown, entered into rest Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Locust Grove Retirement Home, Mifflin.
He was the husband of Mary J. (Minium) Knouse, to whom he was married 56 years.
Lawrence was born April 17, 1933, in Lewistown, a son of the late John and Lilly (Feltman) Knouse.
He attended Quaker Run grammar schoolhouse. Lawrence was employed with PennDot from 1964 to 1972 and from 1972 he worked as a lumberjack for Lee Knouse Logging.
He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Richfield. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around.
In addition to his wife, Lawrence is survived by: his two sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey L. and Patricia Knouse, of Mifflintown, and Ronnie R. and Brenda Knouse, of Millerstown; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Chricos, a brother and a sister.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 1392 Dressler’s Ridge Road, Richfield, with Pastor Ken Brown officiating. Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 state Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, and again from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
