Lyle E. Crouse
HONEY GROVE – Lyle E. Crouse, 77, of Honey Grove, died at 4:52 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on March 23, 1937, in Chambersburg, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Wayne P. and Mabel F. (Arnold) Crouse. On June 11, 1961, he married his surviving wife, Norma E. (Milliken) Crouse, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children, Kathleen Deardorff and her husband, Chris, of Landisburg, Laurie Beatty, of Honey Grove, Steven Crouse and Stuart Crouse, both of Port Royal, and Thomas Crouse, of East Waterford; siblings, Ralph Crouse and his wife, Margie, Edward Crouse and his wife, Jane, all of Chambersburg, Clair Crouse, of Doylesburg, Robert Crouse and his wife, Cindy, of St. Thomas, Shirley Holder and her husband, Robert, of Orbisonia, and Wayne Crouse and his wife, Tina, of Doylesburg; nine grandchildren, Connor Deardorff, Tyler Beatty, Curtis Crouse, Calvin Crouse, Joshua Crouse, Gwendolyn Crouse, Bradley Crouse, Ashley Crouse and Mary Crouse; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Rhino and Hannah.
One brother, Larry Crouse, and one sister, Mary Shoop, preceded him in death.
Mr. Crouse was a 1956 graduate of Fannett Metal High School and a member of the IBEW Local No. 126, Collegeville, the Tuscarora Grange No. 774 and volunteered for many years as president and curator of the McCullochs Mills Cemetery Association Board.
In earlier life, he was employed by his late father as a heavy equipment operator, then for most of his career he was a heavy equipment operator for the IBEW Local 126. He then retired from Triangle Pacific Cabinet Corp., Thompsontown.
Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and attending family reunions. His greatest joy was the time that he spent with his children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at the South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating. After the service, interment will take place in the McCullochs Mills Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the church.
