David J. ‘Jim’ Snook
REEDSVILLE – David J. “Jim” Snook, 67, of 37 E. Logan St., Reedsville, died at 1:16 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Geisinger- Lewistown Hospital.
He was born on April 19, 1947, in Lewistown, a son of the late Wilbur H. Sr. and Mary Martha (McCool) Snook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valarie Ann “Deb” (Lantz) Snook, in 1995.
He is survived by: his son, Shawn D. Snook and wife, Karen, of Lewistown; grandchildren Derek S. Snook and Nicolas C. Snook; and brothers and sisters, Jean M., June A., Helen “Kay”, Martha J. “Dutch,” Linda G. “Lin,” Elizabeth “Eileen” and John R.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard E., Wilbur “Junior” and Roy S., five sisters, Sara Pauline “Polly,” Mary F. “Teets,” Elma G. “Grace,” Evelyn N. “Peg,” and an infant sister, Iris L.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School. He was employed at Metz Poultry in Belleville for a number of years.
He was a member of the Blue Rock Sportman’s Club and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Roller officiating. Burial will take place at Machpelah Cemetery in Belleville.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
