Anthony A. Geno

McCLURE – Anthony A. Geno, 75, died on June 16, 2014.

Born July 7, 1938, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Elsie and Frank Geno.

He had been a resident of McClure since 1993.

He attended school in Upper Darby School District and received a B.S. in Education from Lock Haven College and a M.S. from Temple University. He returned to the Upper Darby School District to teach science at Drexel Hill Junior High School for 33 years while also coaching football and wrestling.

Anthony is survived by: his wife Shirley; his three daughters, Deborah Atkins and Paula Geno, of Quarryville, and Terry Carr, of Bloomsburg; two stepchildren, Carolyn Marland, of Broomall and Robert Hilty, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother Frank, of Lewes, Del.

Anthony enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He traveled to all 50 states, north to the Arctic Ocean and south to Australia. He was most proud of the Geno family contribution to Upper Darby High School athletics, as they collectively received 27 varsity awards, eight team captains and four MVP.

Friends are invited to his viewing 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Sproul & Lawrence Roads, Broomall. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday and friends may also call after 10 a.m. Interment will be at Edgewood Memorial Gardens.
