William W. Weader

LEWISTOWN – William W. Weader, 84, formerly of McClure, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Ohesson Manor in Lewistown.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1929, in McClure, a son of the late John and Effie (Zechman) Weader. On April 6, 1947, he married Adeline S. (Grenoble) Weader who preceded him in death on April 8, 2011.

Mr. Weader attended McClure High school.

After school, he was employed at Glen-Gery Brick Co., in Beavertown and later in Watsontown, until 1963. He then worked for Jack E. Hess Contracting as a Mason until his retirement.

William was a member of Baker’s United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting and making trips to his hunting camp in Centre Co.. He was an avid Yankees baseball fan. However, his family, and especially his granddaughter, were the love of his life.

Surviving are: one daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and Andrew Ward, of McClure; one granddaughter Michelle Aurand and her husband, Brett; one great-grand- daughter, Rhiannon Aurand; one sister, Shirley Leister, of McClure; one brother-in-law, Doyle Grenoble, of Milheim; one sister-in-law, Mable Witmer, of Venice, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Weader and John “Skip” Weader.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Pheasant Funeral Home, with Pastor James Jacobs officiating. After the service, burial will be in Baker’s EUB cemetery in McClure.

Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
