William H. ‘Bill’ Snook

LEWISTOWN – William H. “Bill” Snook, 85, of Reedsville and formerly of McClure, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at William Penn Nursing Home in Lewistown.

He was born on June 5, 192,8 in Lewistown, a son of the late C. Edward and Mabel (Black) Snook. On Jan. 15, 1949, he married Kathryn (Kline) Snook, who preceded him in death on May 4, 1998.

Bill was a 1946 graduate of Lewistown High school.

After high school, he served in the Army from during World War II in Japan.

Mr. Snook was previously employed at Merck & Co. in West Point, for 40 years as a group leader in maintenance.

In his spare time he enjoyed throwing horse shoes, bowling, listening to gospel music and was an avid Penn State football fan.

Surviving are: one son, Dennis L. Snook, of McClure; three daughters, Kathy A. Kline of Arkansas, Sandra L. Kelly, of Landsdale, and Glenda J. Snook, of McClure; eight grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Jean Krepps, of Lewistown.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Snook and James Snook, and one sister, Doris Dillree.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where a time of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m.

Burial will be held at a later date at White Marsh Memorial Park Cemetery in Ambler.
