Lois I. Specht

LEWISTOWN – Lois I. Specht, 70, of McVeytown, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born July 30, 1943, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John I. and Roberta I. (Cherry) Powell.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lloyd E. “Sam” Specht, on March 4, 2012; a brother, Johnny Powell; and a sister, Dawn Joseph.

Lois is survived by: her siblings, Patty Sechrist, of Lewistown, Janice Gahagan and husband, Lou, of Lewistown, Rosie Kauffman and husband, Robert, of McVeytown, Debbie Hoover and husband, Larry, of Lewistown, James Powell, of Bangkok, Thailand, Susan Wineland and husband, Joel, of Martinsburg, Cathy Gearhart and companion, Bob Johnson, of Lewistown, Danny Powell and wife, Kim, of McVeytown, Larry Powell and wife, Heather, of Lewistown, and Jenny Appleby and companion, Brian, Kratzer, of Lewistown.

She attended the Chief Logan High School and early in life she was employed at Fisher Electronics, Gerber Shoe Company and Frieden Int. Poster Supply.

Lois loved spending time with her family.

She attended the Strodes Mills Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter No. 212, Junior and Senior Regent, Treasury, Star Recorder, Academy of Friendship AIC and College of Regent where she was active for 20 years.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jonathan God officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
