Ina Marie (Knode) Hostetler

BELLEVILLE – Ina Marie (Knode) Hostetler, 86, of Valley View Haven in Belleville, died at 6:29 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

She was born June 12, 1927, in Petersburg, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Knode and Ina Georgiana (McMahon) Knode. Her husband, John William Hostetler, whom she married on May 13, 1945, preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2007.

She is survived by: her children, Janet Marie Specht and husband, Frank, of Lewistown, and Diane Potteiger and husband, David, of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Scott McKnight and wife, Lupe, and Haylee Potteiger; stepgrandchildren, Eric Specht and wife, Sheila, and Corey Specht and wife, Kim; great-grandson, Noah; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jessica, Kylee, Katie, Jarrett, Brady, Brennan, Piper, Logan and Cason; siblings, Myrtle Manbeck, of Petersburg, Betty Miller, of Shirleysburg, Robert C. Knode, of Petersburg and Shirley Weaver and husband, Dorie, of Petersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Jason Specht, on Nov. 25, 2007, two brothers, Clyde and James, and three sisters, Juanita, Dorothy and Dawn.

Ina was primarily a homemaker and later in life she drove a school van for Updegrove Buses. She was an inactive member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Allensville. She and her husband had a small ceramics business and they traveled to all the local craft shows. She enjoyed reading, doing word searches and planting and tending to her flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Valley View Haven Chapel with Pastor Anna Ritter officiating. Burial will take place at Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the chapel.
