Florence C. Beasom

MIFFLIN – Florence C. Beasom, 85, formerly of Mifflintown, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born July 8, 1928, in Huntingdon Township, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late James Stanley and Cora (Amig) Schaeffer. Her husband, Ray W. Beasom, preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1988.

She is survived by twin daughters, Diane Marshall and Pam Leister, of Mifflintown; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Florence and her husband owned and operated Beasom’s Restaurant, in Mifflintown, from 1963 until 1970. She then worked as a seamstress at Pebb Sewing Factory in Mifflintown until she retired.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Mifflintown VFW auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, board games, camping and doing crossword puzzles.

Per Florence’s request, there will be no service and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
