Manford ‘Mac’ Stailey

McALISTERVILLE – Manford “Mac” Stailey, 91, of McAlisterville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Brookline, Mifflintown.

Mac was born April 7, 1923, in Liverpool, a son of the late Emery and Ruth (Fultz) Stailey. On May 27, 1947, he married the former Joy Strawser.

Mac served in the Army during World War II in the Medical Corps. He was retired from Mertz Ford in McAlisterville.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McAlisterville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Karen (Steve) Taylor, of Liverpool, and Ruth (Gene) Hockenberry, of Newport; two sons, Robert (Linda), of Mechanicsburg, and David (Alex), of Port Royal; grandchildren Emily, Katie, Sean, Jason, Jeremy, Justin, Nathan, Jill and Mackenzie; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed, of Newport, Lee, of Liverpool, and Tom, of Lewisburg; one sister, Ada Polski, of Millerstown; one sister-in-law, Violet Stailey, of York; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Don.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Liverpool Cemetery.
