Joyce P. Dunmire

PITTSBURGH – Joyce P. Dunmire, 83, of Valdosta, Ga., died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh.

She was born on May 1, 1930, in Milroy, to the late Harry Paige and Verdola Long Paige.

Mrs. Dunmire was a retired office manager for Dr. Charles Barker. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. Mrs. Dunmire was an advocate for juvenile diabetes.

She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi Jo and Jeffrey Leber, of Pittsburgh; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Scott and Rosalie Dunmire, of Henderson, Nev.; four grandsons, Andrew Dunmire, of Nome, Ark., Brian Dunmire, of Dallas, Texas, Alan Leber and his fiancee, Hyojin Park, of New York City, Daniel Leber, of Deschapelles, Haiti; two stepgrandsons, Julian Rhodes and Raymond Rhodes of Henderson, Nev.; and two sisters, Janice Aumiller of Milroy, and Harriet Benfer, of Millheim.

Mrs. Dunmire was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert Lloyd (Bob) Dunmire; her brother, Merritt Paige; and her sister, Jean Paige.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Joye Q. Cantrell and Father Lonnie Lacy officiating. After the service, burial will be in the Christ Episcopal Church Urn Garden. A reception will be held after in the parish hall.
