Marion L. Long

LEWISTOWN – Marion L. Long, 86, of McClure, died at 3:37 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born on April 28, 1927, in Alfarata, she was a daughter of the late Burton W. and Celia (Howell) Yeater.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, James H. Long Sr., on Oct. 1, 1991; two brothers, Jesse and Ivan Yeater; and one sister, Betty Yeater.

Marion is survived by: her children, James H. Long Jr., and wife, Lucinda, and Deborah Guss and husband, Lyman, both of McClure; five grandchildren, Michael S. Long and wife, Bonnie, Julie Long and companion, Dan Dull, Troy Hallock and wife, Dawn, Toie Lewis and husband, Mike, and Rachel Lawrence and husband, Tyrone Sr.; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Leeper, Stephanie Leeper, Katlyn Long, Anthony Guthridge, Cory Carvalho and wife, Heidi, Tyrone Lawrence Jr., Ashley Hallock, Tiffany Lawrence and Isaac Hallock; one great-great- granddaughter, Kalia Carvalho; and sisters, Henrietta Bressler, of Spring Mills, Darlene Wertz and husband, Richard, and Patricia North and husband, Ronald, both of Lewistown.

Early in life she worked at Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory, G.C. Murphy, and lastly, at Hoagies-N-More.

She was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alfarata, and a member of the Moose.

Marion enjoyed Bingo, reading and spending time with all her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 573 Alfarata Road, Lewistown, with the Rev. David Pennebaker officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at the church.

Interment will take place in Alfarata Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marion’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.
