Edgar William ‘Bill’ Huey
LEWISTOWN – Edgar William “Bill” Huey, 89, of Lewistown, died at 12 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Ohesson Manor.
Born on May 4, 1924, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late J. B. and Mary B. (Chilcoat) Huey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Zimmerman) Huey, on Jan. 10, 2011, and sisters, Dorothy Huey and Florence Pry.
Bill is survived by: his children, Cynthia Seaholtz and husband, William, of Lewistown, Mary Macknair and husband, Richard, of Burnham, June Crissman and fiance, Steven Fike Sr., of Lewistown, and Linda Deppen and family, of Dillsburg; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Charles Huey and wife, Evelyn, of Delmar, Calif.
He was a 1942 graduate of Lewistown High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lewistown.
He was owner and operator of J.B. Huey Meat Market. Later, he worked as a butcher at Taylor’s IGA. Lastly, he worked as a custodian through the Blind Foundation working at the Armory and at some banks and some factories.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Interment with VFW Post No. 7011 honors will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
