Doris J. (Lingle) Gross
LEWISTOWN – Doris J. (Lingle) Gross, 84, formerly of South Wayne Street, Lewistown, died at 7:12 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Jan. 7, 1930, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Norman L. and Edna (Stuck) Lingle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. “Tony” Gross, on April 1, 2011, and her brothers, David and Robert Lingle.
Doris is survived by: her children, Danny C. Gross, Steven R. Gross and wife, Jabecca, of Austin, Texas, Stewart L. Gross, and Leslie M. Hughes and husband, David, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Betsy Crider and husband, Rick, of Lewistown, Tony Gross and wife, Kristen, of Williamsport, and Michael and Sam Hughes, of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Norman E. Lingle and wife, Cleo, of Canton, Ohio.
She was a 1948 graduate of Lewistown High School and worked as a server at Green Gables for many years.
She was a Methodist by faith.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral services are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
