Brooks C. Boozel
MILROY – Brooks C. Boozel, 77, of Milroy, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at his home.
Born April 6, 1936, in Newton Hamilton, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary (Bilger) Boozel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bertis, Lester, John, Albert “SAP,” Melvin and Foster Boozel, Gladys Johnson and Stella Fernando.
Brooks is survived by: his wife, Betty L. (White) Boozel, whom he married on May 24, 1980; children, Douglas A. “Andy” Boozel and wife, Deb, of McVeytown, Charlene M. Wright and husband, Mark, of McClure, Angelic L. “Angie” Campbell and companion, Vince Miller, of Milroy, and David E. “Dave” Auman Jr., of Milroy; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard “Gabie” Boozel and wife, Jean, and Robert Boozel and wife, Rachel, both of McVeytown, Thelma Miller, of Newton Hamilton, Freda Worthy and Mary Harshbarger, both of Mount Union, Shirley Grove, of Orbisonia, Elsie Pollock, of Newton Hamilton, Becky Bollinger and husband, Charles, of McVeytown and Geraldine Briggs, of Lewistown.
Brooks had worked at Sanyo Auto and then Fishers for 37 years.
He served in the U.S. Army. He belonged to the Moose.
Brooks enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, riding motorcycles and watching sports. He also loved the outdoors and going hunting.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with military honors to be accorded at 8 p.m.
