Rodger M. Logan

LEWISTOWN – Rodger M. Logan, 69, of Lewistown, died on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at his residence.

Born on July 27, 1945, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Carl and Florence A. Eisenhower Logan. His wife, Shirley Harpster Logan, survives.

He also is survived by: two children, Lisa Logan, of Burnham, and Donald Logan and his wife, Michelle, of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Brent Wendler, Chad Reish, Kyle Reish and Adeline Logan; and siblings, Geraldine Hunter, of Indiana, Linda Blessing and her husband, Harry, of Lewistown, Fenton L. Logan, of Texas, Barbara Sechrist, of Snyder County, JoAnne Markley and her husband, John, of Lewistown, and Joseph Logan and his wife, Mary, of Mifflintown.

He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Michelle and Kelly Logan; one sister, Lucille Boyer; and three brothers, Robert “Butch,” Ronald and Carl Logan

He was employed by the Borough of Lewistown Water Authority and Armstrong Co. of Thompsontown. He was a member of the Brooklyn Hose Co. and he helped initiate the start of Mifflin County Pony League. He loved his sports and played many at Lewistown and Chief Logan High Schools. He had a brief stint with the St Louis Cardinals.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bernard Carpenter officiating. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
