Peggy T. Shilling
LEWISTOWN – Peggy T. Shilling, 84, of Lewistown, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 19, 2014, at Ohesson Manor.
Born on Aug. 6, 1929, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Schultz Taylor and Helen Luella (Feather) Taylor.
Peggy married Harry F. “Whitey” Shilling in 1948. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She is survived by: three children, Andrea Wolfkiel of Belleville, Lynn Curry and her husband, Edward, of Lewistown, and David Shilling and his wife, Ann, of Hazelton; eight grandchildren, Eric Loudenslager, Adam Loudenslager, Tara (Curry) Reeder, Megan (Shilling) Rappolt, Wade Curry, Nicole Stemko, Allison Stemko and Brandon Shilling; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her son, Fred Shilling, preceded her in death in 2007.
Peggy was an active member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon, Secretary of Deacons and as a member of the fellowship committee. She also played in a card club and in the Women’s Pinochle Club. She was a member of the Menopausal Mermaids at the YMCA. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She spent most of her life as a housewife but she also worked as a teller at Russell National Bank.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday Feb. 24, 2014, at Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, with Rev. James Thomas and Rev. Robert Zorn officiating.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park.
