Patricia Louise ‘Patsy’ Briggs
BELLEVILLE – Patricia Louise “Patsy” Briggs, 83, of 47 McDowell St., McVeytown, died at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.
She was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Mount Union, a daughter of the late Patrick and Barbara (Cox) Kilcullen.
She was united in marriage to Charles C. “Brubb” Briggs Sr., in January 1951 and they were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2008.
She is survived by: their children, Barbara G. White, of Little Greenbriar Road, McVeytown, Charles C. Briggs Jr. and wife, Tina, of Roxbury, John C. Briggs and wife, Kim, of Newport, and Patrick K. Briggs Sr. and wife, Kim, of Mount Union; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Janie Krut and husband, John, of Levittown
She was preceded in death by: her son, David S. Briggs Sr.; two grandsons; and her sister, Erma Melnyk.
Mrs. Briggs retired in 1993 from Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, with 36 years of service.
She attended the Newton Hamilton United Methodist Church.
Her mission in life was to take care of her family and she loved spending time with them.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor John Briggs officiating. Interment will be in Newton Hamilton Memorial Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
