MILLMONT – Josephine Ripple, 82, formerly of Lewistown, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Rolling Hills Manor in Millmont.
Born May 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mae (Johnson) Himes.
Josephine is survived by: her children, Dorothy Casner and husband, Louis, of Lewistown, Harry Ripple and wife, Dawn, of Macon, Ga., Brenda McMullen, of Lewistown, Kathy Lash, of Ohio, and Charles Ripple and wife, Sharon, of Virginia; grandchildren, Joanne Giampa, Christine Giampa, Elizabeth Harvey, Melissa Boudreaux, Jennifer Ripple, Jessica Haar, Devin and Owen Ripple, Beth Cavanaugh, Shana Lash, Shaun Lash and Matthew Ripple; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Counsman and husband, Bud, of Florida; and her brother, Robert “Bob” Himes, of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Annabelle Brandt, Helen Baker, Madeline Rhodes, Arthur Himes, Mike Himes, Elizabeth Booher, Minerva Zeigler, Mabel Hampton and Henry Himes.
She was a member of the Salvation Army and the Huntingdon Fire Company.
Josephine enjoyed the beauty of nature, fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, baking and she loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
