Helen D. Snook
REEDSVILLE – Helen D. Snook, 86, formerly of 55 Ruth St., Milroy, died at 10:17 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Elmcroft of Reedsville.
She was born on July 23, 1927, in Reedsville, a daughter to the late William D. and Mae Ellen (Varner) Rhodes. Helen’s passing breaks a loving union with her husband of nearly 65 years, James Reginald Snook.
Also surviving are very close friend, Joyce Stover, of Milroy, and sister-in-law, Grace E. Decker, of Lewistown.
She was the last of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by: four brothers, Levis W. Rhodes, William Rhodes, Chester D. Rhodes and Russell E. Rhodes; six sisters, Alma Beaver, Avis Walpert, Alberta Macneer, Susan Calaman, Tracy Havice and Shirley Bowersox; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was a 1945 graduate of Reedsville High School and a part owner of Snook’s Foodtown Market, in Milroy, for 27 years. She retired from Ron’s IGA Market, Reedsville, in 1998.
She was a member of Milroy United Methodist Church and the Milroy American Legion.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Laura Kyler officiating. Interment will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
