Harold G. ‘Pete’ Renninger

McCLURE – Harold G. “Pete” Renninger, 84, of Old Stage Road, passed away at 9:24 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Lewistown Hospital.

He was born on April 11, 1929, in McClure, a son of the late George D. and Esther M. (Knepp) Renninger.

Harold was a 1947 graduate of McClure High school and had also attended Penn State.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Renninger was previously employed at the Cluett Peabody Factory and the American Viscose both in Lewistown. He also worked at McCrory’s five and dime and also Marine Midland Bank in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where he worked as a loan officer for many years.

Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure where he sung in the choir.

He enjoyed yard sales and auctions, square dancing, horses, traveling and going on bus trips and especially loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are five sisters and two brothers in law, Betty Shawver, Ruth Yetter, Gail and David Dillman, Judy Renninger and Nancy and Glenn Folk.

Harold was preceded in death in addition to his parents by one sister, Arlene Wray, and one brother, Donald Renninger.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating.

Burial will be in the McClure Union Cemetery.
