Frances D. Watson

REEDSVILLE – Frances D. Watson, 78, of Park Drive Extended, Reedsville, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

She was born on May 29, 1935, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late William I. and Cora I. (Jackson) Sipe. Her husband, James A. Watson, whom she married on Aug. 25, 1956, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Steve Watson and wife, Lisa, of Reedsville, and Mike Watson and wife, Barbara, of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Brittney, Tyler, Evan and Ethan; and one great-grandchild, Ayden.

The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Ruby M. Moyer and Olive E. Carstetter; and a brother, Melvin E. Sipe.

She graduated from Armagh-Brown High School in 1953. She began her career at G.C. Murphy Co. in Lewistown, and had been a secretary at Penelec, Standard Steel and Watson’s Optical.

She was a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church and the Ladies of the Moose.

Fran was an avid Bingo player, cook and shopper, who loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Drive, Reedsville, with Pastor Douglas D. Sabin officiating. Interment will be held in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Drive, Reedsville, PA 17804, Reedsville Fire Company or Burnham Fire Company.
