Floyd R. Forgy
LEWISTOWN – Floyd R. Forgy, 81, of Strodes Run Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord at 9:53 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1932, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Harrison A. and Hazel M. (Woodward) Forgy. His wife, JoAnn (Smith) Forgy, preceded him in death.
Surviving are: two stepsons, William E. Foster and wife, Linda, of Strodes Mills, and Daniel T. Foster Sr. and wife, Penny, of Yeagertown; two sisters, Vera Davidheiser and Jean Mierly, both of Lewistown; and three grandchildren, Megan Pollock and husband, Timothy, Edward Foster and Daniel Foster Jr.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Paul Forgy, Wayne Forgy, Helen Cramer and Faye Plessinger.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Mifflin County School District, where he was employed as a custodian for 30 years.
Floyd was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, and the Westminster Men’s Sunday school class. He also had served as a deacon and Sunday school secretary.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the McVeytown Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Andrews and Mr. George Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the church.
