LEWISTOWN – Evelyn Heineman, 97, formerly of 27 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter – William Penn.
Born on Feb. 2, 1917, in Barnesboro, she was a daughter of the late James Jr. and Mary Ann (Dukes) Birchall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: four brothers, Fred, Bernard, Harry and Phillip Birchall; and two sisters, Hilda McCoy Grassmeyer and Stella Hill. She was the last of her immediate family.
Also preceding her in death on Oct. 6, 1993, was her husband, William L. Heineman, whom she married on Jan. 17, 1940.
Evelyn is survived by: children, Susan Antonucci and husband, Thomas, of Pittsburg, Kay Fleisher and husband, Darwin “Mike,” of Granville; four grandchildren, Alysia Middaugh and husband, Jesse, of Lewistown, Jason Fleisher and wife, Stacie, of Mattawana, Dr. Thomas Antonucci and companion, Sarah, and Nicholas Antonucci, both of Pittsburg; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Middaugh, Dylan Fleisher, Cole Middaugh and Cassidy Fleisher.
She was a graduate of Barnesboro High School and earlier in life worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory.
Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Juniata Memorial Park, with Father Michael Opoki officiating.
