Daniel M. Peachey
BELLEVILLE – Daniel M. Peachey, 93, of 96 Sunrise Lane, Belleville, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1920, in Belleville, a son of the late Abraham and Nancy (Yoder) Peachey. His wife, Julia (Peight) Peachey, preceded him in death.
He is survived by: his children, David S. Peachey and wife, Mary, of Beaver, Ohio, Nancy B. Hostetler and husband, Joseph, of Belleville, Abraham J. Peachey and wife, Diane, of Belleville, Lewis M. Peachey and wife, Mary, of Belleville, Henry Y. Peachey, of Allensville, Julia Zook, of Dundee, Ohio, and Rachel C. Yoder and husband, Daniel, of Belleville; 51 grandchildren; 164 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grand- children; and a sister, Susie Peachey, of Allensville.
He was preceded in death by: four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchil- dren; two sisters; a daughter-in-law; and a son-in-law.
Daniel was a member of the Old Order Amish. He was a retired farmer, and became an ordained minister on Sept. 30, 1951 and a Bishop on Sept. 27, 1975.
His funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the Jacob Peachey residence, 120 Sunrise Lane, Belleville, with Ministers Louie Peachey and Josiah Peachey officiating. Burial will take place at Allensville Amish Mennonite Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Lewis Peachey residence, 96 Sunrise Lane, Belleville.
