Verna H. Foster

McVEYTOWN – Verna H. Foster, 87, of West Holiday Street, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Valley View Haven, in Belleville.

Born Sept. 14, 1926, in Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late James I. and Effie (Wagner) Harshbarger. Her husband, Harold C. Foster, whom she married Feb. 20, 1959, preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1999.

Surviving are: two sons, James C. Foster and wife, Vickie, of Harrisburg, and John C. Foster and fiancee, Cindy Heikes, of McVeytown; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchild- ren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She was a homemaker and was employed as a secretary.

Verna was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and making lap robes for charities.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Steve Rynkewitz and Pastor Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
