Suzanna S. ‘Sue’ Collins

MIFFLIN – Suzanna S. “Sue” Collins, 93, formerly of Mifflintown, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

Born April 4, 1920, in Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late George Joseph and Sarah Ellen (Kauffman) Stutts. Her husband, Marvin W. Collins, whom she married on Oct. 4, 1943, died on Feb. 5, 1994.

She is survived by: one son, Kenneth E. Collins and wife, LaVerne, of Harrisburg; one daughter, Lois A. Kennedy and husband, Jim, of Yeagertown; one sister, Ruth E. Steffen of Harrisburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Harry A. Stutts, and two sisters, Ethel M. Henderson and Sarah E. Stutts.

She had retired from Juniata Garment where she was a seamstress.

Sue was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the EverReady Sunday school class.

She enjoyed sewing, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown with the Rev. William Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown, at the convenience of the family.

Although there will be no viewing, the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the church.
