Lydia A. ‘Deed’ Stewart

LEWISTOWN – Lydia A. “Deed” Stewart, 95, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at her residence.

Born on Feb. 22, 1918, in Potter Township, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh J. and Gertrude (Felmlee) Runkle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adie A. Stewart on Jan. 2, 1987, and her siblings, Mildred, Dorothy, Rella, Laird, Walter and Leroy.

She is survived by: her daughter, Donna Rupert, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Thomas Rupert and Nadine Rupert; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Courtney, Harley, Darlynn and Ariah; and siblings, Helen King, of Milesburg, and Hugh Runkle, of Bellefonte.

Lydia was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She was a deacon at the church for many years. She was a devoted Christian woman and always enjoyed helping her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Terrace Blvd., Lewistown, with the Rev. John Looney officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the church.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
