Helen E. McMahon

MIFFLINTOWN – Helen E. McMahon, 84, of South Main Street, Lewistown, died Monday Jan. 27, 2014, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

She was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Burnham, the daughter of the late Ralph and Flora (White) Haines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McMahon, in 1980.

Surviving are: a daughter, Ann Evans and husband, Michael, of McAlisterville; brother and sisters, Reid Haines, of Michigan, Rose Breedlove, of Michigan, and Audrey Romig, of Maitland; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by: three sons, Ray K. McMahon, Russell J. McMahon and Dennis L. McMahon; a granddaughter, Angela Evans; seven sisters; and two brothers.

Helen was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Pleasant Acres. She worked at Empire Kosher, Beaver Shoe and Pebbles Mfg. She liked doing crafts and sewing and watching WWE wrestling.

A funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St. Lewistown, with the Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
